Cindy Bao

For an exhibition exploring grief, memory, and matrilineal connection, I created collateral rooted in reminiscence. A photo of Cindy, my friend and the artist, holding her great-grandmother’s hand became the basis for a lace textile—part reference to the clothing woven throughout the work, part gesture of holding on.

The identity combine sans-serif type with a delicate serif and fractured stencils to echo themes of time, fragmentation, and remembrance. The booklet remains intentionally loose, with drifting, justified type and subtle irregularities that reflect the emotional texture of the project.
